Now we have the guidance on how to open in September we are working our way through it to ensure safety for all. I can assure you that we will reopen on 2nd September for ALL pupils, fulltime. There will be significant changes to the classroom lay out and the structure of the day including the use of separate gates to drop off and pick up and staggered start and end times to the day. More details about this will come out to you as soon as they are finalised. They will come by email so PLEASE CHECK AND READ YOUR EMAILS! If we do not have an email address please send it to your child’s class teacher using the year group address. You will NEED to follow all the new routines as it will affect your child’s start back and I’m sure you don’t want that!
I am able to tell you the staffing arrangement for September. There are a few changes. During lock down Mrs Miller and Mrs Hope made the decision to take early retirement. We understand their decision and are very sorry to lose them. They have both given a lot to this school, Mrs Miller has worked here for some 20 years! We will mark this event properly as soon as we can. Miss Stockton will now be our fulltime pastoral worker and along with the class teacher should be your first port of call with any issues. Appointing staff is particularly challenging at this time, we have appointed a temporary person for the autumn term to replace Mrs Miller in order to allow us time to appoint ready for January.
Prior to lock down Mrs Whyte made the decision to reduce to three days per week. Year 3 will therefore be a job share arrangement between Mr Newiss and Mrs Whyte. Mr Newiss is in school fulltime, of course, so that makes for a smooth transition each week.
Reception: Mrs Proud (MonTuesWed) Mrs Higgs (ThursFri) & Mrs Wheeler
Year 1: Mrs Hales & Mrs Burgess
Year 2: Mrs Morris & Mrs Forrest
Year 3: Mr Newiss (MonTues) Mrs Whyte (WedThursFri) & Mr Eatock
Year 4: Mr Fisher & Mrs Davies
Year 5: Miss Shepherd & Mrs Andrew
Year 6: Miss Buckham & Mrs White
Teaching staff are still required to have 10% of their timetabled time out of class for planning, preparation and assessment (PPA). This will again be provided by Mrs Fawcett who is able to move between classes with precautionary measures in place. Mr Eatock will take Y6 for Miss Buckham’s PPA.
